Wheelie Wednesday - Bailey & Judy makes Pancakes!

Hi everyone, Bailey here, AND me, Judy!
As you can see, I've, we've taken to cooking.
Yesterday was Shrove Tuesday, Pancake day, Fat Tuesday, Mardi Gras & Carnival - whatever, it was the day before Ash Wednesday & the start of Lent - that's today!
For those that observe religious thingy bobs, not Mistress for sure; that means 40 days of fasting or trying to give up something one wants big time, like chocolate or alcohol.
Now, there's was no chance, that, you know who, will go Tea-Total.
Or Miss Foxy will give up her superiority towards me.
Ouch, SHE wheelie wheeled me!
Judy here: He deserved it!
But we did all get together as a family, and follow the custom of a celebratory feast.

I collected the best eggs from Miss Henny Penny's cage, HE wanted to use the cheapo ones...In the end we used up both & all the milk in the house.
Opps! None was left for Mummys breakfast
I tackled the Lemons & Oranges...Bailey: And I did the serious work like beating the eggs...And heating up the brand new, non-stick pan...Mistress, then insisted, heavens knows why, on taking over from me.
Shucks, I was having such fun!
And, as she, seemed sadly, unable to do two tasks @ once; ie cook & take photo's; I can't show you the finished pancakes.
We, however, enjoyed them with freshly squeezed Lemon & Orange juice & sprinkles of sugar.
Judy :They were great; till, Mummy reminisced about a fancy variation, she'd tried once.
She made wholewheat [brown] pancakes & filled them with lemon curd & creme fraiche, before pouring Limoncello, an Italian liqueur, she'd brought back from Rome over them!
Grrr!
That Sis of mine always has to have the last word!
Till next time, keep paw happy!

Bye-de-Bye,
x"

A Special Valentine Update!

What can I say, my old bear heart brims over with pride.
I have just recieved this comfirmation from my dear beloved Miss Rosie, that my Valentines card to her, did indeed arrive in time...Naturally, I did not sign it as tradition decrees, but my nearlier post which she read, was rather a give away!
Am now just just a little concerned, that all these other cards @ 'Aunt' Misses Peach's cozy cottage might be for her too...But, I believe a lady of her refinement will have a loyal true heart to me!
Ear wagging hugs to all,

Mother even found me a selection of cakes perfect for the occassion too...

Purr-day Greetings Misses Peach!

One can never have enough 'Aunts'!
The fact that one of mine is a cat is incidental, she is a lady of fine vintage.
Here we are sharing a quiet moment pre her recent wedding nuptials...
Purr-Day Greeting to you dear 'Aunt' Misses Peach>(^;^)<!

Mother and I will be joining you shortly @ the Cozy Cottage for tea & cake.
And of course, while there, I can hopefully steel a quiet private word with my own beloved Miss Rosie too - Yes!

Time to Celebrate!

Happy Bear-day to me,
Happy Birthday to Sir Winston,
Happy Bear-day dear ME,
Happy Birthday dear Sir Winston,
Happy B-day to US!

There is no prize for guessing what to day it is here?
My Hug is fancy pawty hat ready as my invitations specified...
Yes, it is my very first ever my Bear-day celebration!
Mother, hiding behind her Venetian mask, wanted to make it special...But I fear she now regrets it's technicalities!!!
[Blue here, without the help of friends below re images all gratefully received, I would have done a 'Woodstock Regrets' post re this 'madness' on my part, as I have felt so unwell this weekend it has been a real struggle to get my act together!]

Back to me, the bear-day boy!
Not every bear can celebrate his day in such fine company!
My Hero, Sir Winston Churchill was born today in 1874 @ the Big House there in Woodstock!
And a 'wheelie' friend joining us is named after him too!
It fell to this wartime prime-minister, to cement my country's alliance with the US, where I now have many good friends!
The son of an American mother & an English father, his eloquence - yes, he was a fine speaker, with a way with words, just like me - endeared him nearly as much to Americans as to the British!
This oil portrait of him is by Douglas Granville Chandor 1946...
And this me, a digital photograph by Mother 2009...
Now, the pawty really can start, the caters have delivered!
My cake has arrived, not from the Shop but it is chocolate...And, my presents marched in...Followed by my many friends.
Master Buttons, smartly attired in business suit was first @ the door... The Rocky Creek Scotties were next...Followed by, Maggie & Mitch plus Miss Autumn and Kipper & Hazel...WFT's Miss Fergi, Jake & 'Wheelie' Winston...
Bob T Bear, esq came over without his famous pants on head...
Charlie Bear, Sally Ann, Mack & Taddy teleported across from the USA...And, Diva Asta as usual dressed to impress & took centre stage...Then played the piano beautifully for our dances and my Bear-day chorus...Before setting up a Las Vegas style gaming table to showing off her card tricks... Ginger Jasper in very fetching green, hoped the luck of the Irish was with him when he sat down to play poker against her...
And, we must send Greeting to his Dad, who has the honour to share his Birthday with little old me!

My personal guest of honour was of course, my lady bear friend dear Miss Rosie - we shared a private moment over a paw-martini, after I had reclaimed her from Master Buttons company - I think she admires a gent in a suit...She arrived with apologies from Aunt Misses Peach, who is still away on her honeymoon with Mickey.

Moving on, Mother has lite my cakes candles - look @ them burning brightly - I am not saying how many...
Everyone please take a deep breath, think of a wish & help me blow them out - one, two, three woooooooooooooooooosh!
And, may I say 'Thank-You' to you for all coming to share my day and making it so memorable, now, lets pawty some more.
Hugs,

My Bear-Day Plans!

I have had to over-rule Wheelie Wednesday today - well, it is my blog and Mother has procrastinated long enough about making this very important announcement regarding the 30th of November 2009!
Yes, it is now, only a few days away to my first ever Bear-Day celebration!
I honestly, have to confess, head in paws, I have no idea when I was actually born, but as I have aspirations re my birth place ie the Palace in Woodstock, I have adopted one of it's most famous son's day as mine.
Mother approved, as she loves history.
And, one must aim high in life!
And what can be higher than Sir Winston Churchill, Great Britain's prime minister during World War II???
Then, she lowers the tone with my Pawty Invitations...
FANCY HATS!!!!!!!!!!!
But, everyone is welcome - bears, cats, pups, human's, especially Aunts!
Mother has promised to mix serious Paw-Martinis...
Cook lots of tempting fishy/meaty items all glazed /roasted in Honey...
And, order in a wealth of desserts - I specified Ice-cream ...

I hope for a Bear-Day Cake too???
So, RSVP and please come help me blow out my unspecified number of candles!
Sir Winston would be a 135, but I am considerably younger than that!

Wheelie Wednesday - Judy re tells her Story!

Hi, it's me Judy!
Don't imagine you expected to see me again this week.
But, Wheelie brother Bailey, bless him, let me, if a little begrudgingly, have another word.
You see, Mummy has missed two important dates in my small feltie life, my 1st Adoption Barkday & my 1st Gotcha Day!!!
Can you believe it?
Here I am, like royalty, Queen Elizabeth II, with two Birthdays, an actual one & an official one, and I didn't get to celebrate either!
For those of you wondering, how come I have two special days, I had a near disastrous start.
Mummy, who had been wanting a 'Wheelie' for ages, before she found Bailey, had asked Aunty Lana over @ Airedale Heaven to felt me.
I was to be named Judy in memory of Mummy's childhood WFT doggy sister and to be modeled in the image of her now best foxy friend, the one & only Jackson.
Bailey still says he can't believe, he agreed to a GIRLY clone, but he did or rather his JI did!
Per my Adoption Certificate, my adoption was formally completed on the 4th August 2008
I was then carefully bedded down & duly shipped across the Big Pond, only to be taken prisoner by men in dark jackets - because I went missing, Mummy thought I'd got lost @ sea!
But, eventually, the Customs Inspectors allowed me into Dreamingspires with instructions that Mr Postman was NOT to deliver me to Mummy unless she paid a huge ransom!
Mummy was outraged & appealed - in hindsight, she whole hearted wishes she hadn't - I though, have forgiven her.
Anyway, still safely in my cosy box I went back to the Customs Head Office.
There I was unceremoniously dragged from my bed & I interrogated!!!
It was ever so scary, but I held out as best as I could.
They ripped my left paw off my wheels & bent it painful backwards, tweaked my tail & ruffed up my fine felt.
With no confession extracted, these nasty men returned me to Dreamingspires, still demanding the ransom tax be paid.
Mummy on seeing my wrecked box, knew she couldn't have me sent back to the States, so she paid over the many pounds demanded & brought me home.
My Gotcha Day was last Sunday, the 18th October!

I was in a terrible state, all wheelie wobbly & pathetic looking...Mummy fixed a surgical plaster to my poorly sore paw, straighten my tail & lovingly smoothed down my felt.
I rested up on her bed... And, eventually Mummy rejoined my paw to my wheels.
All was was finally well in my world & has remained so.

Must go now, as rumour has it every bear & pup is gathering for a surprise pawty in my honour!
And, I've just seen a cake...
Foxy love & wheelie wishes
