New Year, New Things!

Happy New Year again every bear, pup & 'Aunt'!
After hanging up my personal 2010 calendar, Mother said today is the day for fresh starts - it is out with the old ways and in with the new!
So, in keeping with this, she has given me my very own e-mail address.

I quickly had my paw on the job via my new mouse mat...AOL here I come...
And with that accessed, there was no stopping me.
I have opened my very own Blogger Account in the name of Sir Woodstock Bear - am just so chuffed and proud.
I still have to fine tune to my profile mind.
But, from now on, I will be posting in my own right.

And, if that was not all enough, I also have a 'live' logo too...
Photobucket
He was 'Aunt' NakedBears.
However as she no longer blogs, Mother assures me, she will not mind me keeping him active, besides which I think he does bear a slight engaging resemblance to yours truly!

Now, I understand that it is custom to make New Years Resolutions.
This I have been giving careful consideration, as they must be simple ones that I will not break easily!
1) I will eat less Honey - this should be easy enough to keep, as not that fond of the sweet stuff, too darn sticky on the old paws!
2) I promise to hug Mother every morning - no problems there, as two of us to keep and remember this one.
3) I will act as cupid between dear Merry and Master Stormy - after he has seen her, in her new hat, a Christmas gift, that will be bear easy!
4) I must be nice to Skipper - yes, I did wake him up from his hibernation for the Holidays but more on that another time!
5) I promise to let the Wheelies to post every Wednesday - Grr, maybe!
6) I resolve to win the hand of fair Miss Rosie Bear - an old bear needs to act, before some young whipper-snapper bowls her over!
7) I will TRY to keep Mother on track - a bit concerned about this one, as could prove the most difficult!
As the last three will keep me on my toes, I am quitting while ahead.
Does anyone else care to share their resolutions???

Enjoy your New Years Day all.

Hugs

Telling Tales AND True Colours Thursday - PINE GREEN!

Apologies bears, pups and 'Aunts' for going AWL after the excitement of the Christmas Cracker Pull.
But, my Head of Hug responsibilities took precedence.
You see, Mother has had a major misadventure.
She quite literally, went missing on us on Boxing Day!!!
After she had not come home for long three nights and three even longer days, after only going to Town for I imagine more Bear Treats, I feared the worst - ABANDONMENT.
Then, this strange, swollen, black & blue bruised faced person arrived.
The Hug and I looked aghast.
The younger Hug members even hid in fright @ this strange apparition.
I, though took charge of the situation.
After bravely interrogating her, I decided it was Mother after all.
And no matter what her appearance, that we were relieved to have her back with us, even if she did smell a touch of hospital disinfectant!
Later that day someone called a Locksmith, did strange things to our front door, before presenting Mother with a bunch of shiny new brass keys.
She said we were all now safe!
Am taking her word for it.
I am also, indebted to 'Aunt' BJ, who worried, had 'Aunt' Dina call and check in on of us.
Mother is sleeping a lot, and every morning she has interesting new facial colours, personally I do not think the look will catch on.
Infact for a while, I would recommend she to wear her Blue Venetian Mask to face the outside world.
Apart from that everything is good now.

SO, onto the days business.
There was only one choice for PINE GREEN - Grizzy Bear Lee.
His 'Gotcha' place @ Three Valley Gap, BC - is surrounded by Mountain PINE's, his Canadian Sweetshirt is GREEN, and he likes to fell small GREEN PINES!
Here we are together...
The day is so dark, we had to sneak upstairs and into Mother's bed by the window where the light was better for our photo shot, only please do not tell her.
Now you may recall that Christmas bag I had for Mother?
Here's part of it's contents - a rather special Fridge Magnet...
Does he not bare a striking resemblance to some bear???
Plus his hat and scarf contains, yes, PINE GREEN!

OPPS!
Almost nearly forgot, a very HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone.
May it hold every bear thing you desire that 2009 did not.
Extra warm hugs,
xxx

Do join us to will this brave Wire Fox Terrier Miss well again.

A Party to Remember!

Now, please bear with me today, as I am a little, in fact, a LOT delicate.
So much so, I just cannot believe how noisy these computor keys are!!!
I am trying my best to paw in quietly, as loud sounds do jar my poor head!
And, as for my Juke Box's jingle - I will not go there!!!
You see, I have recently arrived home from a serious Bacholar Party!!!
Here is the invite, and I did survive but only just...
Yes, I know it say's 'ManCats only'!
However, as a close relative of the 'Bride-To-Be', none other than my own dear 'Aunt' Miss Peach >(^;^)< ; an exception was made for myself and young Bob T Bear, Esq!

Miss Peach's intended Mickey, is indeed a fine looking fellow...And, his Best Mancat & Groomscats organised quite a night!
You can read about it & see all the goings on HERE!
All I will add, is there was much caterwauling... The above black cat was NOT Mickey, just in case Miss Peach is concerned!
But, the drinks did flow rather a lot.

After my own experience with the demon Lemon, as in Gin & Tonic's a while back, I restricted myself to premium Scotch instead!
I think the Rocky Creak Scotties will approve of my choice...But, suspect I imbibed a little too much, so must go lie down again.
Mother maybe laughing @ me, but she did keep remarkably quiet about what happened @ Miss Peach's Bridal Tea & Spa Party!!!
I do, suspect this tea was not as innocent as it looks...
Anyway, Mother and I must now ready ourselves, for the Wedding Nuptials a week today; I, of course will be escorting the delightful & genteel Miss Rosie Bear, my own personal love interest.
Mother will have to go alone or accompany Bob!

Woodstock Road!

Now, I know there are several places named Woodstock.
One is in the United States, young Buttons was apple picking nearby recently & impressing me with his tree climbing skills!
And, there is of course, the local country market town close to Dreamingspires, that it is home to my birth palace.
But, Mother told me, not every one has a road named after them...Hugs,

Bear Blog Friends are the Best!

I had not planned to post today.
But in light of an unexpected event, I had to insist Mother help me - though, I sometimes wonder if I could not do a better job @ typing with own my paws, as even after all this time she s still is mainly a two fingered typist!!!
However, I digress, this morning I found I had received this specially crafted friendship award from a new acquaintance, Charlie Bear...He lives with the impressively named, you know me I like a bit of class, Lord Duncan of Mcduff - Mack for short, a 14 year old American Eskimo dog and Sally Ann, a 2 year old Welsh Terrier.
They have kindly allowed him to start posting on their blog on Mondays, as they are very Teddy Bear friendly.
Charlie is one big fellow, even larger than my Skipper!
Here his with Sally Ann...
However, I am not @ all intimidated, as can see he has a gentle nature by the way he looks his much smaller Hug members in the awards image.
Thank-you, my fine fellow bear blogger for your paw of friendship!
I accept it and the award graciously.

Stuffie Abuse!

Now, everyone knows or SHOULD, not to leave our dearly beloved Canine friends in cars, during the Summer, even with the windows down, as the sweltering heat can be fatal & all too frequently is.
Only last month, two Nottinghamshire Police dogs, tragically died that way, due to their handlers neglect!
That incident shocked Mother & I to the core - see HERE for more details!

But, I ask - what about car Stuffies???
Today, Mother showed me this worrying photograph taken yesterday, of these poor guys sitting in bright sunshine in a hot, air-tight vehicle...
I am very concerned for their well being!
They will suffocate!
Their coloured coats will fade, their stuffing disintegrate in the car furnace.

Alright, Mothers last car did have a Stuffie mascot.
He, given to her by Miss Shy, when she first acquired shiny red VW 'Scarlet'
But, Poodle Snowy, lived, like he does now indoors except, when his @ map reading skills were required, as seen here on their very last adventure together...
In my old bear eyes, all pet abuse, real or of the stuffed variety should not be allowed!
Maybe, I should start my own road side campaign...Any fellow supporters???
Hugs,
x

Bear Party Cakes!

Mother found these, in that fancy cake shop's window...
Sunday's tea cakes are certainly put in the shadow by them!
She, has promised me one for my Bearday.
What a shame I have to wait till 30th November!
And, that is all my own fault.
As I mentioned on Mother's Birthday, as I was unsure of the actual date of my own Special Day but felt it, in my stuffing that, I hailed from Bear-ristocracy, I decided to adopt Sir Winston Churchill's birth date.
Well, he was born @ the BIG house in Woodstock, that I feel sure is my Palace too.
But, upon seeing these cakes, wish I had maybe chosen differently.
I want one now!

Stewart goes Home!

We, as in the Hug, are all a little subdued tonight, having lost our newest member!
Earlier today, someone persistently kept ringing our front door bell.
Mother, never keen to respond, due too many casual callers, finally went & answered.
A little Miss & her Mother stood there.
"Do you have my teddy Scot?" was the plaintive request.
Yes, Stewart, as we called him, has been reclaimed!
It seems, his true Mother, young Jade, whilst visiting her Grandmother, who lives locally - let him slip from her grip, on a trip to the park!
The re-union was touching.
But, here, we have mixed feelings!
Glad he has gone home.
But, sad he has left us!

Saturday Photo Hunters - Garbage!

I have not participated in this game for sometime.
But, after checking my America English Dictionary, regarding this weeks word prompt, I realised it is about rubbish - not Aunt BJ's 'Rubbish by Roan', but the sort you seriously throw away.
Now, that reminded me of this disturbing picture I had seen whilst surfing Google Images...I consider a teddy bear rubbish bag, to be in very bad taste!
Am relieved Mother uses bio-degradable black sacks.

Lost or Found!

Here in the Hug, we have a serious dilemma.
On Saturday morning, Mother, walking along our home road, came across this young man, quite literally, 'hanging out' in a shrub...
We think he must have been lost by a careless child-ling!
Tutt -tutt!
Then, picked up out of harms way to await being reclaimed.
Mother, decided not to intervene there and then, as he had to be a local resident as our road is not a thoroughfare, and she felt sure his mummy would be distraught and send out a search party for him over the week-end!
However, much to our dismay, Mother has just discovered, two days & nights later he is still there looking decidedly unhappy!!!
With thunderstorms forecast for later today we are all, even more concerned for his well being - he will need an umbrella not a tartan scarf!!!
So, do we rescue him now or wait till it starts to rain???
I personally favour the former.
Will keep you posted.

True Colours Thursday - COBALT!

After regretably, appearing blog-wide wearing PEACH pants, earlier this week, NO thanks to Mother and Bob T Bear, Esq - Cringe, Cringe - I decided that COBALT Hug member Bruge', would have take a back seat...I need to show off, my preferance for blue, a much more masculine colouration, suitable to my gender!!!
So, as Mother was not featuring her COBALT silk scarf and long shirt, I borrowed them...

Naming Assistance Reguired!

Mothers return was a dark affair and she is still not her usual self.
As each meeting with gentleman friend Little Buddy, leaves her so disheartened, I am seriously beginning to wonder if this thing called 'Romance' is all it is made out to be!!!
I may even have to reconsider whether I pursue my own courtship of dear Miss Rosie, cousin Peach's genteel lady bear, who I sent Valentines and Easter greetings cards too!

Moving on, I did have a quiet, reproachful word with Mother about her lack of postcards from Canada, after all I went to so much trouble making her those special stamps.
She confessed that unlike Las Vegas, she had not sent a single card - shame on her!
But, she did remember to bring me back one of real Grizzly Bear...
On past BC travels, Mother has spied Black Bears feeding close to the highway verges and even had one walk cross in front of her and LB when hiking out at Whistler.
But, she had no such bear sightings this trip.
That may have been for the best, as they are only just emerging from their long Winter hibernation, and are known to be highly unpredictable and cantankerous at this time due to hunger pangs
I imagine if I had not eaten for many months I would be too!
Anyway, after producing my card, Mother introduced me to 'Sweetie'...
Now, cute as he looks, in his Canadian sweatshirt, I do not think this is at all an appropriate name for a Grizzly, so am looking for help here.
All suggestions are most welcome.
The only information I have about his heritage is that is a Cuddle Critter and he was found at Three Valley Gap.

He has Been!

Yes, the Easter Bunny delivered big time!
Look @ Merry & I's laden basket of eggs to share around the Hug...And, so Mother was not left out, I personally procurred especially for her, a Lindt Golden Bunny & a card signed by all us bears .
A good job too, as it was the only chocolate she recieved - see how sad I look for her, when we have so many eggs - maybe we will share...
Hugs & Easter Greetings to everyone.
Hope your Bunny delivered as well as ours did!

The Easter Bunny!

Mother posted this photo taken last Spring on her old blog...
At the time she thought him, a doggy and quoted this...
"Imagination is more important than knowledge"
Albert Einstein
[1879 - 1955]

But most, like me, thought her wrong!
We, recognised him instantly as a Bunny leaping across the sky.
I hope he's out there right now, gathering up all our Easter eggs for Sunday!
I am eagerly waiting...
Hugs,

The Truth!

Did, I not tell you, I was the 'Apple of my Mother's Eye'???
Well, here is the proof...It is just unfortunate that the cool site PhotaFunia made her eyes, look green rather than their dark Blue!

True Colours Thursday - SCARLET!

Not a very impressive contribution on my part this week.
Had no opportunity to introduce a Hug member, as had to help Mother out with her SCARLET post.

Just look @ me...I felt I was suffering from jet-lag, just wearing the attire!
Hugs,
