True Colours Thursday - ORANGE & LEMON!

I thought I was seriously in trouble this week, as when struggling with a colour, Merry has always come to my rescue.
But after Saturdays photograph of her and Master Stormy cuddling, I was in her bad books big time.
Yet, what did she do?
Quietly donned her ORANGE & LEMON floral scarf and rallied Polly Pola & Peaches to the cause too with their appropiate scarfs...
Then, she found one of Mother's Kensitas Flower cards showing an Antirrhinum embroidered in ORANGE & LEMON silks...
And Polly Pola not to be out done, proudly showed off her toy Elephant...Thank-you girls, your help was much appreciated.
Next weeks colour is NAVY - I wonder if I will be pushing my luck with dear Merry if I mention Stormy again!!!

Saturday Photo Hunt - Cuddly!

Today's photographic prompt gives me an opportunity to quickly update you on Merry's pursuit of Master Stormy.
Her persistence is obviously paying off, as they were seen to be getting seriously cuddly on St Valentine's Day...I quickly adverted my eyes after this touching moment, as wanted to spare their bear blushes!!!!

A Year with Merry!

No Wheelie Wednesday today, as, as Head of Hug I have intervened!
I have an important date to recall instead.

As one's bear years pass by and one grows older, time flies seriously fast!
It is hardly seems possible, that it is a year today, that dear Merry arrived from across the Pond.
My very first view of her in her travel box...Sent on her journey by Maggie & Mitch, she came 'Home' to me.
They, her kind American family wanted me to take care of her, as her birthright is as a Merrythought Bear in the British Isles; and they found her 'lost' in Woodstock, Massachusetts - how significant was that ???
Merry is a sweet heart bear - my very best friend...Just so glad you joined me!
Time for tea now...
Ear wagging hugs,

True Colours Thursday - BLUE & WHITE!

Being the Gentleman Bear that I am, I will only say a little on Mother's Colours post today as her story with BLUE & WHITE photographs regarding the lady who makes hand spun hair Teddy Bears should strictly have been mine to relate - after all, I am head of her Bear Hug!
But, I have a big heart and I have my own romantic tale to tell!!!

As you know, dear Merry is trying to win the heart of Master Stormy, with his dashing navy BLUE & WHITE bow...Her initial attempts re wearing seductive 'Evening in Paris' Perfume and sharing similar taste in Italian Deruta [BLUE & WHITE] pottery have failed to make an impression - he remains friendly but regretably ALOOF!
However, Mother @ that pre Christmas Teddy Bear Fair in Brighton, found a pretty BLUE hat decorated with tiny WHITE pearls for her to wear...
And when home, a BLUE & WHITE silk handkerchief of Grandmothers.
The finished look - she, Merry hates to model - I insisted...
So, encouraged, by Stormy's unexpected Christmas bouquet of Roses...And with another splash of the magic BLUE &WHITE perfume...
Merry went wooing again - she is one liberated persistant Lady Bear!
The result???
To be continued...
Unfortunately, Mother's camera has lost it's memory and my photograghs!
Hence, I leave you with this romantic 'cliff-hanger'!
Hugs,

True Colours Thursday - CRANBERRY!

Hallo, it's me Merry...Mother's finally home, but Sir Woodstock is in a terrible strop!
His nose has been seriously put out of joint by a new arrival & rival....
I think Othello is a sweetheart bear.
But his 'Growler' greeting did not go down well in certain quarters!
So, I asked Anna to help me out with todays post...
Here she is in her CRANBERRY ribbon top with her latest 'Find'...She really is a jewelery kleptomaniac!
First Grandmothers pearls, now a broach!!!
Hugs to all,

Wheelie Wednesday - Judy on the Bear-day Aftermath!

Hi, it's me Judy!
Just a quick post as I am soooo busy caring for a still poorly Mummy, an exceedingly 'tired' Woodstock, & clearing up after the pawty!!!

I imagine, you wondered where I was on Sir Woodstock's actual 1st Bear-day Celebration?
Well, dear Merry & I took it upon our-selves to help Mummy.
You wouldn't imagine to number of paw-martini's we made, even WFT Asta was impressed!
Then, there was the entrees to serve & the ice-cream to scoop out - it was busy, busy but loads of fun.
The aftermath, not so much!
Fancy pawty hats were left everywhere!!!
And, then there were the feathers to collect, due to the tipsy pillow fight between bears & 'wheelie' pups!
Thankfully, Woodstock's beloved Miss Rosie more a tea- mistress than a imbiber departed early, so didn't see that!!!
As for Woodstock him-self, he had such a 'good time' he's been sleeping it off ever since...
Anyway, Merry & I are finally getting on top of tidying things up!
But, what worries me is Woodstock has his first Gotch Day looming and Mother's going to be away!!!
Whispering here, hopefully, he won't remember it.
Till next time,
Foxy love & wheelie wishes

True Colours Thursday - LAPIS LAZULI!

A while back on another True Colour Thursday, Navy I believe, I posted about Merry being smitten with Master Stormy.
A fine and handsome fellow, he is still proving a differcult bear for her to 'Woe and Win' over!
This is her latest effort to
'Wow' him with her style and good taste...She's doned Mother's LAPIS LAZULI blue glass beads... And started to use her pretty little milk jug made in Italian Deruta pottery...Why, the latter?
Because, Stormy has the matching coffee cup - Mother brought both back as holiday souvenirs from Lago Trasimeno, in Umbria, Italy... I just hope, this display on Merry's part works, as she does get rather blue when rejected by him!
But, I suspect this courtship has a way to run yet!

True Colours Thursday - BLACK!

Today is all about Halloween.!
Even, Merry dressed up in BLACK for 'Trick Treating'...
And, what do you think of my BLACK Wizard's hat...
Mother even found me cakes with appropriate icing...Hugs,
And, Happy Halloween for Saturday as I will be away attending a wedding!

True Colours Thursday - GOLD!

For this weeks colour all I could find, were what remained of the GOLD wrapped chocolate bears I had a while back...Yes, only three left - the Hug & I turned cannibal!!!
So, I padded off to have with a word with my golden bear girl Miss Merry, as she always has bright ideas.
I found her looking very glamorous in a GOLD & golden glass necklace and mysteriously pawing a pair of small GOLD keys...Now, I take my head of Hug duties very seriously, that means no secrets from me, I therefore, did not hesitate to enquire as to what the keys unlocked!
And, dear Merry showed me her GOLD padlocked red & GOLD purse containing her GOLD coins...I did point out that they were American, so not valid here.
But she replied, she was keeping them safe, just incase Mother went to Las Vegas again, as if she does, she Merry, plans to stow away!
Her aim, to visit the famous Golden Nugget Casino on the downtown Strip, spin the GOLD Wheel and make all our fortunes...I am not holding my breath, but it is a nice golden dream to have!

Sunday Afternoon Tea Musings!

I was not going to mention the weather but it is raining again.
Hence, Mother is depressed and drowning her sorrows in wine!
She's heard there is now a 'Flood Warning' out on the River.
Not too sure, what that exactly means, but she is upset.
So, I invited Merry & John II to share Sunday Cakes with me.
'Sultana Fingerellas' all the way from Paris, France no less...
They were a late 'Thank-you' gift, after Mothers last 'cat minding' stint.
But, strangely she finds them too sweet.
Hurrah!
More for us bears.
Guess I should have invited Bob T. Bear, Esq over as he loves cake but it was an impromptu party.
I have saved 'fingers' for the other Hug members - maybe I will send him one too...But, before we - yours truly and Merry, could partake of ours, 'holier than thou' John II insisted in a quick bible blessing...
I understand that Aunt BJ's John is less pious.
Rather ironic really!
Mother who is not religious, has the saintly twin.
And Aunt BJ, who does go to Church, has the less Godly one.
Guess that is life!

B'Day Cheering for Maggie & her Mom!

Dear Merry was all misty eyed this morning!
It was nothing to do with her romance with Stormy either!
She was feeling a touch home-sick of all things.
The reason?
Although, English by birth, she did live contentedly for a while in the States.
Todays is her former Mother's Birthday along with her doggy sisters Barkday.
Now, as they are two of my dearest blog friends I instantly cheered...
Merry & I wish Aire Miss Maggie & Aunt Sue a wonderful day and shared celebration.
Love & Hugs from us both,
andxxx

True Colours Thursday - NAVY!

Now, Mother confessed to struggling with this weeks colour, but not me, as I have a tale of hoped for seduction via this to relate...When Mother was young, a long time ago, even by my standards, Grandmothers very favourite perfume was 'Evening in Paris'.
Created in 1929 by Bourjois; by the Nineteen Fifties it had become "The Most Famous Fragrance in the World."
It came in a dark blue bottle with a dream of sophistication, romance & escapism, and Mother has inherited several of these small iconic bottles in their original packaging and full too.
The scent is too sweet for her now, but she told Merry and I, that the slightest whiff still conjures up special childhood memories like a good-night kiss.
Now, upon hearing this, dear Merry doused herself in it.
You see she is rather smitten with Master Stormy in his NAVY & White ribbon..Wearing her best silk NAVY neckerchief, she is keen to share a kiss with him.
I do worry, her feelings may not be reciprocated!
As despite her best efforts todate, he seems only inclined to cuddling...Guess only time will tell, whether the 'Evening in Paris' magic still works!
Hugs,
