Saturday Photo Hunters - Utensils!

I thought, I would join Mother and do tnchick's prompt meme again!
The other evening, it was all paws and wheels to the deck to make supper.
The 'Wheelies' and I being very utensil friendly.
Here's me, grinding the mixed Peppercorns with a Pestle & Mortar...
Miss Judy, niftly weighed the Mushrooms in 'Wheelie' sized Scales...
Bailey, is ready to beat the Eggs, they are just waiting to be seasoned with my Pepper...
And Skipper - well, he is all too handy with a kitchen knife - the less said the better...
What were we, all helping to make?
A Mushroom & Courgette [or Zucchini to my North American friends] Flan.
Or Quiche, if we want to be cosmopolitan!
Mother made the shortcrust wholewheat pastry.
There's no photographs of the finished meal, as she, was more interested in eating it @ that stage!!!
Did we, her valved helpers get a taste?
NO!
Hugs from a hungry,
x

Happy Mothering Sunday!

Well, a certain Wheelie, who will remain nameless, thought he was the only one remembering this special day.
But, NO way!
We Bear Hug members have, our very own card for Mother...
And, I personally, sneaked into the garden to pick her a real bunch of flowers too - Celandine's, no less...Know she will love them!
I certainly do - their little yellow selves are as sunny as the sun they adore, when it goes to bed, they close their faces up and go to sleep as well.

And, a Happy Mother's Day too, to Mothers everywhere.
We would be lost without your love and care.
And, miss those who are no-longer with us.
Hugs,
x

True Colours Thursday - GREEN!

My participation in Mother's colour meme was in jeopody again this week, as I have no GREEN Bears!
But, once more dear Miss Merry came to my rescue.
She donned her GREEN spotted Neckerchief & modelled Grand Mother's fun broach and Mothers GREEN Adventurine bracelet & earrings...
What a great girl she is!
Hugs,
x

Postscript:-
It seems I am now, the host of Wheelie Wednesday.
Mmm, NOT sure about this!
I would have much prefered it, if Mother had consulted me first.
Miss Judy is fine; a classy wiry wheelie lass.
But, that Bailey is another matter.
There maybe friction ahead!

A FURRY Adversary!

Mother does Photo Hunters today, this weeks prompt being furry, I told her I had the perfect topic!
But, she went her own sweet way.
So, I will tell you my-self!

Earlier this week, I had a few worrying moments.
You see, wheelie Bailey discovered I had procured my own blog, and his best buddy, the very furry Skipper took it extremely badly, I have to say.
He's a lot bigger than me, looks even more imposing because he's so white and furry!
However, never let it be said that I can be easily intimidated, my initial scared look was simply surprise...I quickly gathered my wits about me and explained to Skipper about Bear Hug loyalty, and that fond as he was of Bailey, I am kin.
Didn't like to add superior kin, as that might have set him off again!
The big lump, eventually saw sense, and we are now friends of sorts...He needs a firm hand & some serious behavioural training - will never be refined like myself, but am sure I can make something of him given time, lots and lots of time!

Monochrome Monday - Miss Judy's Arrival!

Now, am unsure whether to play officially here!
Is the greater Monochrome Maniac World, quite ready for me yet???
Do not want to upset Mother's good friend Aileni, creator & host!
But, could not resist a small effort @ tweaking images to B&W.
Dear wheelie Miss Judy's arrival with her paw wounded in her travel box, seemed a suitable start... Hugs,

PS - We are honoured!
Aileni says we can participate.
What a good sport he is!

A Story of Pedigree!

Good Afternoon everyone, allow me to introduce myself!
My name is Sir Woodstock, Woodstock to my friends.
I hail from the pleasant English country town of the same name, in Spireshire; and in my humble opinion from the BIG house there!
If, this Palace, was good enough for Sir Winston Churchill's birthplace, it was certainly good enough for mine...Old age & due to falling on slightly hard times a while back, means my past memories are rather vague; BUT, I can feel it in my stuffing that, I hailed from Bear-ristocracy!

I have done a little Internet research into the origins of the name of Woodstock, it is Saxon and means Woody Place.
Tradition points to Saxon times as those from which a 'royal' residence dates in the town.
King Alfred the Great, no less visited Woodstock, and Ethelred the Unready [ unready for what I ask?] held ordinance there.
However it was, Henry 1, son of William Conqueror, who built a stone wall, 7 miles in circumference around the 'royal' Park [much still remaining I can assure you].
It was where he kept 'Strange Beasts from Foreign parts'.
I am alarmed to find these included Bears!
Unfortunately, in the Medieval times, these poor fellows would have been used for baiting and fighting and forced to dance in chains.
NO - Not keen on that King, not @ all.

I think I will quickly move on to pleasanter times.
I was rescued from a high, quality Antiques Stall, by Mother in December 2008, as an early Christmas gift to herself; she having recognised my superior quality straight away.
I have settled in well, and, consider I have fallen on my paws re this new, if SMALL home of mine!
Mother is proving a good, old sort - gives me lots of cuddles.
Plus, there's a sizable hug of assorted Bears for companionship - some with considerable better breeding than other's.
I will have you know, I am the only 'Hand-Made' genuine Mohair here; even the Stieffs cousins can't match that.
There's also a few Canine Stuffies around & two Wheelie Dogs!
Little Miss Judy, a WFT, has pedigree - very FINE felting and excellent manners that girl.
She sweetly declared me an 'honorary' Wheelie this Wednesday - even, allowed me to do a 'Guest Post' on Mothers Blog instead of her.
It was that, which inspired me to start my own.
I know I have much to offer!

As you can see I have, already grown fond of this Foxy lassie -
Mawh...However, the less said about the other Wheelie, Bailey, the better; would you believe it - a Street Foundling no less!
And, as for his best buddy, Skipper, a somewhat inferior Bear, he came out of a builders skip...And please, what does he think looks like wearing shades?
I was never that fond of the 'Blues Brothers'.
Still, I can Lord it over those two with ease & once they've learnt to mind their P&Q's around me, I am sure I will be more tolerate of their serious social failings.
Never let be said, I am a Bear Snob but one must have standards.

Okay Chaps, do take care till next time.
Will have Mother work on perfecting my Blogsphere space.
Gracious Hugs to all,
