True Colours Thursday - SNOW WHITE!

Now, you may recall that in the Autumn I took Master Buttons advise and insisted grumpy Skipper, as befitting his SNOW WHITE Polar Bear heritage, hibernate for a few months in hope of improving his temperament.
With Wheelie Bailey, his best Buddys help, we managed to shove - err, Sorry - stow him away under the stairs, with the promise to wake him in time for the Holiday Festivities...Personally, I would have preferred him to sleep on and on and on
And the recent Winter weather suggests he should have!
But, a Bear's Word is his Bond, so we woke him up on Christmas Eve!

His first thought, was not 'Thank-you 'as I had bear hoped, but a very private word with Bailey...It seemed Skipper refreshed, had decided to abandon his dark, somewhat menacing 'Blues Brother' shades , however, as he is short sighted he desperately needed new glasses!
Fortunately Mother was @ hand with a few spare pairs for him to try...He finally settled on one and agreeably donned his Christmas pawty hat too...Maybe, he is a 'new' SNOW WHITE bear after all - only paw time will tell!

True Colours Thursday - SILVER!

Never let it be said, that I do not give credit where credit is due.
'Wheelie' Bailey was of great assistance yesterday concerning the tricky issue of Skippers hibernation, though he did fail to mention I had to cross his wheels with SILVER to precur his help, but I will let that pass!
As soon as the cupboard door was shut on Skippper, I wound up my SILVER pocket watch...
Have set his wake up alarm for December, month 12...Just hope that is long enough rest for him!

Wheelie Wednesday - Bailey puts Skipper to Bed!

Hallo All!
Remember me?
In case you've been wondering what had happened to me, I've been away to late Summer 'Wheelie' School.
As you know I'm trying to improve myself, so I took a short course on 'Bear Management' as my home is swamped with the blighters.
And, I've quickly had to put my newly learned skills to work too, sorting out snooty Sir Woodstock & Skipper!!!
You see, Skipper wasn't sure he needed or wanted to go to have a long enforced sleep, just because Woodstock said he did.
Now, I didn't like doing it, not one bit as it went against my wheels.
But for once, I sided with his lordship!
I explained to Skipper that all Polar Bears have a period of hibernation and that there was a nice spot under the stairs where he could rest for a while & renew his strength
And, I promised to wake him up in time for Christmas.
Eventually, he agreed, I saw him safely to the door...
Then, put up the notice he'd written, so he wouldn't be disturbed...
All went very quiet, so after a little while, I sneaked a peek inside...
With Skippper asleep, it'll just be down to me to keep Woodstock in line!
Till next time, keep paw happy!
Bye-de-Bye,
x

Saturday Photo Hunters - Words!

I am going to have to have words with Skipper.
He is sitting on the front garden wall begging!
Just read the words on his placard...
Bearinging in mind that he is bigger than me, with a fierce Polar Bear attitude, I usually hesitate to reprimand him, however I feel his latest action is bringing the Hug into disrepute as we are very well feed.
I suspect he will claim it is because Mother would not let him paw out the tomato pasta saucepan after Joey's cook in.
But that was so, he would not stain his fur bright red!
So, his only acceptable defence, will be that he is doing a little last minute 'fattening up' before he goes into hibernation.
In that case, I will very happily turn a 'blind eye', as sleep deprivation could account for his bad humour towards everyone except 'wheelie' Bailey, his best buddy!
I understand that my friend Buttons white bears hibernate each year, awaking after Thanksgiving but I am hoping Skipper might slumber for longer, much longer!

Saturday Photo Hunters - Utensils!

I thought, I would join Mother and do tnchick's prompt meme again!
The other evening, it was all paws and wheels to the deck to make supper.
The 'Wheelies' and I being very utensil friendly.
Here's me, grinding the mixed Peppercorns with a Pestle & Mortar...
Miss Judy, niftly weighed the Mushrooms in 'Wheelie' sized Scales...
Bailey, is ready to beat the Eggs, they are just waiting to be seasoned with my Pepper...
And Skipper - well, he is all too handy with a kitchen knife - the less said the better...
What were we, all helping to make?
A Mushroom & Courgette [or Zucchini to my North American friends] Flan.
Or Quiche, if we want to be cosmopolitan!
Mother made the shortcrust wholewheat pastry.
There's no photographs of the finished meal, as she, was more interested in eating it @ that stage!!!
Did we, her valved helpers get a taste?
NO!
Hugs from a hungry,
x

Rescued from the Storm!

It rained big time late, yesterday afternoon as was predicted.
The clouds darkened and the thunder 'boomed' out...
I have never seen Mother move sooooooooooooooo fast!
She was out of the front door before I could say, "the Bear!"
A little damp, she returned with him.
He was a bit subdued and needed a good toweling down...
As Buttons suggested, Mother has posted his picture in the vicinity she retrieved him from.
But, if no-one comes forward, we will of course, adopt him into the Hug!
And, to make him feel @ home, I have already christened him Stewart, as the tartan on his scarf looks rather Royal!

Now, if he stays, he will become Mothers third 'rescuee' from the WILD.
'Wheelie' pup Bailey was first - she discovered him abandoned on a street corner being tormented by youths on bikes...Mother had 'Lost' posters for him all over the neighbourhood for weeks.
Next came Skipper, found languishing in a house clearence rubbish skip...
These two, are now best buddies...
They sometimes test my patience, as not very respectful of my senior years and superior position, however am sure Stewart will know his place.

Wheelie Wednesday - Bailey catches up!

"Hallo Everyone, Bailey here, @ last!
Crikey, it's been a while since I got to post.
Every one's been having fun except me - weep/whinge!
Mistress got to go on holiday.
And, what does she do?
But, put that snooty bear Woodstock in charge of the house.
I ask you!
What was she thinking off???
He makes out he's all pure & refined, yet I caught him gambling & with that religious boy John 2 too, here's the proof...
Even, my so called, best buddy Skipper got to play cards...
Somehow, my invitation to the gaming table got lost in the post - pouting here!
However, never let it be said, that I'm not a tittle-tattle.
I won't tell Mistress.

But, I'm going to get myself in favour with her this weekend & hopefully earn myself a treat.
You see, it's Mothering Sunday & I'm ahead of the game.
I've just signed my greetings card...Had it hand made specially for Mistress Blue too, in her favourite colour...
Do you think she'll like it???
Since, that Foxy Wheelie Sis of mine Judy, prefers the Bear Hug's company to mine, she's always having tea with them, she can send her own card!!!

Till next time, keep paw happy!
Bye-de-Bye,
x"
P.S.
Just realised I've moved blogs.
Err, Wheelie Wednesday is now hosted by his lordship, Sir Woodstock!
Opps, maybe in serious trouble now.
I do really like you Woodstock, no offence was meant in this post.
But, am sooo sad Mistress felt the need to do this.
Isn't blogging for escapism & fun???
Just because she crossess the thresholds between blogs, why hate her?

A FURRY Adversary!

Mother does Photo Hunters today, this weeks prompt being furry, I told her I had the perfect topic!
But, she went her own sweet way.
So, I will tell you my-self!

Earlier this week, I had a few worrying moments.
You see, wheelie Bailey discovered I had procured my own blog, and his best buddy, the very furry Skipper took it extremely badly, I have to say.
He's a lot bigger than me, looks even more imposing because he's so white and furry!
However, never let it be said that I can be easily intimidated, my initial scared look was simply surprise...I quickly gathered my wits about me and explained to Skipper about Bear Hug loyalty, and that fond as he was of Bailey, I am kin.
Didn't like to add superior kin, as that might have set him off again!
The big lump, eventually saw sense, and we are now friends of sorts...He needs a firm hand & some serious behavioural training - will never be refined like myself, but am sure I can make something of him given time, lots and lots of time!

A Story of Pedigree!

Good Afternoon everyone, allow me to introduce myself!
My name is Sir Woodstock, Woodstock to my friends.
I hail from the pleasant English country town of the same name, in Spireshire; and in my humble opinion from the BIG house there!
If, this Palace, was good enough for Sir Winston Churchill's birthplace, it was certainly good enough for mine...Old age & due to falling on slightly hard times a while back, means my past memories are rather vague; BUT, I can feel it in my stuffing that, I hailed from Bear-ristocracy!

I have done a little Internet research into the origins of the name of Woodstock, it is Saxon and means Woody Place.
Tradition points to Saxon times as those from which a 'royal' residence dates in the town.
King Alfred the Great, no less visited Woodstock, and Ethelred the Unready [ unready for what I ask?] held ordinance there.
However it was, Henry 1, son of William Conqueror, who built a stone wall, 7 miles in circumference around the 'royal' Park [much still remaining I can assure you].
It was where he kept 'Strange Beasts from Foreign parts'.
I am alarmed to find these included Bears!
Unfortunately, in the Medieval times, these poor fellows would have been used for baiting and fighting and forced to dance in chains.
NO - Not keen on that King, not @ all.

I think I will quickly move on to pleasanter times.
I was rescued from a high, quality Antiques Stall, by Mother in December 2008, as an early Christmas gift to herself; she having recognised my superior quality straight away.
I have settled in well, and, consider I have fallen on my paws re this new, if SMALL home of mine!
Mother is proving a good, old sort - gives me lots of cuddles.
Plus, there's a sizable hug of assorted Bears for companionship - some with considerable better breeding than other's.
I will have you know, I am the only 'Hand-Made' genuine Mohair here; even the Stieffs cousins can't match that.
There's also a few Canine Stuffies around & two Wheelie Dogs!
Little Miss Judy, a WFT, has pedigree - very FINE felting and excellent manners that girl.
She sweetly declared me an 'honorary' Wheelie this Wednesday - even, allowed me to do a 'Guest Post' on Mothers Blog instead of her.
It was that, which inspired me to start my own.
I know I have much to offer!

As you can see I have, already grown fond of this Foxy lassie -
Mawh...However, the less said about the other Wheelie, Bailey, the better; would you believe it - a Street Foundling no less!
And, as for his best buddy, Skipper, a somewhat inferior Bear, he came out of a builders skip...And please, what does he think looks like wearing shades?
I was never that fond of the 'Blues Brothers'.
Still, I can Lord it over those two with ease & once they've learnt to mind their P&Q's around me, I am sure I will be more tolerate of their serious social failings.
Never let be said, I am a Bear Snob but one must have standards.

Okay Chaps, do take care till next time.
Will have Mother work on perfecting my Blogsphere space.
Gracious Hugs to all,
