Playing a Fun Game!

Aunt BJ recently did this meme and forgot to tag me!
But, being a forgiving bear I will overlook this grave omission of hers!!!
The rules were simple enough, erase her answers and fill in my own.
So, here is goes!

1. Who is the hottest Movie Star?
I think Bob T Bear Esq, I admire his productions no end...
While Mother - she insists on playing along too, goes for boring actors Robert Redford, or Colin Firth!

2. Apart from your house & car, what is the most important item you have ever acquired?
My rescue, by looking totally bearsome @ Mother, when she spotted me on that Antiques Stall last year.
Mother says Airline Tickets and lots of them!

3. What is your most treasured memory?
Being bought by Mother.
I was growing weary of being wrapped in grubby newspaper & deposited in a packing box by the Antiques dealer, only to be put on display again the next day in the cold.
Mother goes for meeting Little Buddy in Hawaii - this is in 1994...

4. What was the best gift you ever received as a child?
Baby Bear memories I do lack, so have to pass here.
While Mother was initially torn between her rocking horse & her garden swing, as both allowed her to escape into her own private world while riding / flying through the air for hours and hours on end!
But, she thinks the swing wins, as it was her greatest source of pleasure, almost a companion as an only child, strange as that sounds, for longer years!
She says, she sat on it, no matter what the season, Winter or Summer.
She swung HARD & HIGH, almost rocking it out of the ground, imagining being as free as a bird, dreaming of going to far flung places & telling her-self wild fantasy tales.
Even in her teens she admits to sitting swinging away whilst reading, and when her childhood home was sold, her only regret was leaving the by then rusty swing behind.

5. What is the biggest mistake you have ever made?
Letting myself get kidnapped from my birth palace.
I could be living in with the Duke of Marlborough!
Mother went misty eyed here & said despite all the wonderful meetings, failing in love with a married man in the 1980's & keeping the affair current!

6. Four words to describe yourself?
Me - Reserved, Faithful, Caring & Superior.
Mother - Shy, Loyal, Differcult & Moody!

7. What was your highlight or low light of 2008?
Back to Mother's rescuing me - it was a highlight!
She says finding me - a very good answer in my bear eyes!

8. Favourite Film?
Mine has to be this...
This fascinating documentary film, an all too short 55 minutes, sees Hollywood star, Ewan McGregor, in the 'Polar Bear Capital of the World', Churchill, Manitoba, Canada.
A place on our mutual 'must visit' list.
But, Mother still opts for 'Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid'
We both watched, it recently.
See her post here on her Films, Memories & Movies blog!

9. Tell me one thing I don’t know about you.
I sneak up @ night to eat any cakes & biscuits left about.
While Mother, says she wanted to be a Air Hostess, but did not have the figure or languages - hence maybe failing for a Pilot instead!

10. If you were a comic book/strip or cartoon character, who would you be?
Why, Rupert Bear- he has smart atire!
Mother - Fred Basset, for no reason, she just likes him...
Now who to tag?
Bob T Bear, Esq, as I'm sure he will have a lot to say!
Buttons, he & his Hug always have fascinating tales.
Aunt Peach>(^;^)< & Karla because we love them.
And,
Maggie & Mitch, as they are always up to play.
Hugs to all,

Postscript:
As the Rocky Creek Scotties were the first to comment we tag them too - the more the merry is what I say!

Happy Birthday Mother!

I consider, you can never have enough of a good thing!
So, thought, Mother might appreciate this Andy Warholizer Greetings card of me...
It being Mothers Birthday today, I have been inclined to wonder about my own special day.
Since memories are very vague, prior to my 'rescue', I have decided to adopt my believed birthplaces most famous son's date of birth, especially since it is very close to to when Mother found me sadly languishing on an stall in Dreamingspires Antiques Market.
Sir Winston [Leonard Spencer] Churchill, was born at Blenheim Palace, Woodstock on November 30th, 1874!
Well, I am not that ancient for sure, but it is a fine date.
And, Grandmother was a November baby too.
How old am I?
Since I do not know, I cannot tell!
However, I am sprightly in spirit.
And, very young in heart, if mature in mind and mohair.
Hugs,

An Award!

Am amazed!
Almost speechless but not quite!
Only been blogging a few days and already have an Award!
Must indicate, instant recognition of my superior qualities etc.
Aunt BJ, who writes exceedingly well; is quite a script HERE - has passed this one, onto both Mother & I..This *** Award is apparently, bestowed upon a fellow blogger whose blog's content is, in the giver's opinion Brilliant.
Well, I knew I was Good.
But, 'Thank-you' Aunt BJ, for recognising this, so early on!

It is much appreciated.

The rules:
"When accepting this auspicious award, you must write a post bragging about it, including the name of the misguided soul who thinks you deserve such acclaim, and link back to said person so everyone knows he or she is real.
Choose a minimum of 7 blogs that you find brilliant in content or design.

Or improvise by including bloggers who have no idea who you are because you don’t have 7 friends.
Show the 7 random victims’ names and links and leave a harassing comment informing them that they were prized with “Honest Weblog.”
Well, there’s no prize, but they can keep the nifty icon.
List at least ten honest things about yourself.
Then, pass it on! "

So, who, to Award - am a bit flumaged here.
Just gifting it to those, who show qualities I admire!
1. Edward - no explanation needed really, a Bear of my own class!
2.
Bob. T Bear, esq - lively entertaining young chap!
3. Dina
, charming lady - left me a comment on my Monochrome post!
4.
Maggie & Mitch, superior Aires.
5.
Molly & Taffy, as family, per Mother!
Would tag
Bear Naked, a human with Bear class, but @ the moment she has to to watch over Monsieur Bear.
6.
Eduardo, anyone who snuggles that much, must have a good heart!
7.
Asta, this sassy WFT lady, reminds me of Miss Judy!

And, now, let me see, what I should reveal about myself.
Am quite a private bear really.

However, here goes TEN [honest] random things about me:
1. I wear a collar, sadly with a bell!
But, the collar does help support my poor neck & the bell alerts Mother when I take a tumble.
2. My leather paw pads have water stains!

I suspect I may have gone for a paddle @ some time in the fountains of my birth place.
3. I prefer sleeping on my own - more den space to stretch out in.
4. Do not acknowledge any shortening of my name - consider it very bad form.

5. I prefer reading 'Winnie the Pooh' by A. A. Milne, to Michael Bond's 'Paddington Bear'.
6. But, definitely not that keen on Honey, far too sticky & sweet.
Much prefer Marmalade, though in truth, am more a savoury Marmite type of individual .
7. My favourite ever television serial is 'Brideshead Revisited', shown originally in 1981.
It is based on Evelyn Waugh's 1945 novel of the same name.
This choice is naturally because of Aloysius Bear!
He accompanied his owner Sebastian Flyte, a young man of good upbringing but a dreamer to study @ Dreamingpsires.
After leaving university they travel together in an open-top Morris on journey to Italy and other countries in Europe.
Aloysius is spoiled and neglected but mostly cuddled.
Have not seen the more recent cinematic version; must have Mother find a copy.
8. I HATE the cold & ice, even with my cosy mohair coat.
9. Am not ticklish, but have a sensitive spot in my lower spine.

10. My last wish is to be loved to death!
Done my best here!
Hugs to all,

A Story of Pedigree!

Good Afternoon everyone, allow me to introduce myself!
My name is Sir Woodstock, Woodstock to my friends.
I hail from the pleasant English country town of the same name, in Spireshire; and in my humble opinion from the BIG house there!
If, this Palace, was good enough for Sir Winston Churchill's birthplace, it was certainly good enough for mine...Old age & due to falling on slightly hard times a while back, means my past memories are rather vague; BUT, I can feel it in my stuffing that, I hailed from Bear-ristocracy!

I have done a little Internet research into the origins of the name of Woodstock, it is Saxon and means Woody Place.
Tradition points to Saxon times as those from which a 'royal' residence dates in the town.
King Alfred the Great, no less visited Woodstock, and Ethelred the Unready [ unready for what I ask?] held ordinance there.
However it was, Henry 1, son of William Conqueror, who built a stone wall, 7 miles in circumference around the 'royal' Park [much still remaining I can assure you].
It was where he kept 'Strange Beasts from Foreign parts'.
I am alarmed to find these included Bears!
Unfortunately, in the Medieval times, these poor fellows would have been used for baiting and fighting and forced to dance in chains.
NO - Not keen on that King, not @ all.

I think I will quickly move on to pleasanter times.
I was rescued from a high, quality Antiques Stall, by Mother in December 2008, as an early Christmas gift to herself; she having recognised my superior quality straight away.
I have settled in well, and, consider I have fallen on my paws re this new, if SMALL home of mine!
Mother is proving a good, old sort - gives me lots of cuddles.
Plus, there's a sizable hug of assorted Bears for companionship - some with considerable better breeding than other's.
I will have you know, I am the only 'Hand-Made' genuine Mohair here; even the Stieffs cousins can't match that.
There's also a few Canine Stuffies around & two Wheelie Dogs!
Little Miss Judy, a WFT, has pedigree - very FINE felting and excellent manners that girl.
She sweetly declared me an 'honorary' Wheelie this Wednesday - even, allowed me to do a 'Guest Post' on Mothers Blog instead of her.
It was that, which inspired me to start my own.
I know I have much to offer!

As you can see I have, already grown fond of this Foxy lassie -
Mawh...However, the less said about the other Wheelie, Bailey, the better; would you believe it - a Street Foundling no less!
And, as for his best buddy, Skipper, a somewhat inferior Bear, he came out of a builders skip...And please, what does he think looks like wearing shades?
I was never that fond of the 'Blues Brothers'.
Still, I can Lord it over those two with ease & once they've learnt to mind their P&Q's around me, I am sure I will be more tolerate of their serious social failings.
Never let be said, I am a Bear Snob but one must have standards.

Okay Chaps, do take care till next time.
Will have Mother work on perfecting my Blogsphere space.
Gracious Hugs to all,
