True Colours Thursday - AZURE!

Remember me???
I have had a prolonged enforced rest as Mother, my secretary has been exceedingly remiss regarding helping me to blog; not that she has ignored the Hug & I, we have had lots of cuddles, even if a few of them were damp ones due to her crying because of her blue moods!
In the hope of cheering herself up, she has also been away to Brighton twice, she returned from her most recent trip yesterday, with such red eyes I bearly recognised her - you see, her favourite WFT Jackson who she went to visit, died whilst she was there, and worse still on her actual birthday!
I never meet him personally, probably for the best as he was a notorious de-stuffier of all Stuffies, including I fear superior Bears like myself.
Anyway, pup blog friends of Mother's Doyle & Mollie suggested she buy herself a belated Birthday treat ie a Stuffie in Jackson memory, so she did just that.
Meet Freddie in his AZURE jumper...
You would have thought she would have called him after the Jax!
But no, she decided there was only room for one Jackson in her life, so as she shares her birthday, with the late actor Fred Astaire [10/05/1899 - 22/06/1987], who starred in the 1955 film "Daddy Long Legs" and as you can see my new Hug member has long legs, Freddie it is.
The fact he has an AZURE jumper may have made some impact on her choice of bear this particular week but he seems a fine fellow and maybe he has inherited his namesakes ability to dance.
I have always fancied learning Ballroom dancing, especially now, as then, I could sweep my beloved lady bear friend Miss Rosie off her feet!
Hopefully, it will not be to long before I have another word with you all.
Ear wagging hugs,

Good morning all Aunts, bears, friends & pups!

My elderly stuffing felt in need of a short period of hibernation.
But, I am back fully refreshed.
So have hustled my most colourful Hug members together for a photographic shot regarding this weeks RAINBOW theme.. And although my greetings are some what late they are bearfelt...Ear wagging hugs,

True Colours Thursday - ORANGE & LEMON!

I thought I was seriously in trouble this week, as when struggling with a colour, Merry has always come to my rescue.
But after Saturdays photograph of her and Master Stormy cuddling, I was in her bad books big time.
Yet, what did she do?
Quietly donned her ORANGE & LEMON floral scarf and rallied Polly Pola & Peaches to the cause too with their appropiate scarfs...
Then, she found one of Mother's Kensitas Flower cards showing an Antirrhinum embroidered in ORANGE & LEMON silks...
And Polly Pola not to be out done, proudly showed off her toy Elephant...Thank-you girls, your help was much appreciated.
Next weeks colour is NAVY - I wonder if I will be pushing my luck with dear Merry if I mention Stormy again!!!
Ear wagging hugs,

True Colours Thursday - CINNAMON!

Today I am going to make a long over due introduction.
Meet my CINNAMON Hug member...He arrived home late last Summer in Mother's wicker shopping basket...
She found him looking lost, amongst nick-nacks on a market stall.
And, being amused by his CINNAMON teddybear decorated pyjamas...She decided there was only one possible name for him - PJ!
He is a nice lad, likes to lounge around, so fits in well here.
Ear wagging hugs to all,

True Colours Thursday - PEWTER!

Mother once again, stole my original photograph for PEWTER, see her post - you can just spy my paws!
But then, Miss Judy mentioned her fine felted PEWTER grey back...
And, her neat neck spots, modeled on the Jackson's personal markings...
She was so seriously disappointed, I did not feature her for last Saturday's Photo Hunt as it's prompt was 'Spotted', I could not ignore her PEWTER look today!
Hope I have made amends now!

True Colours Thursday - PUCE!

PUCE!
It was paws in the air, I can tell you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But then, Mother pointed out that she had not only bought a fancy hat from that Bear Fair for Merry, but another one, especially chosen with today's colour in mind - Yes, well - you could have told me earlier!
It was for Polly Pola, whose taste in head attire has been highly questionable in the past.
She has been known to actually enjoy, unlike my-self, wearing pants on her head to please Bob T Bear (esq.) who named her!!!
Personally, I think this Pixie look is much more becoming...
As to whether it & it's button decoration and her handkerchief are PUCE, I am keeping an open mind on!
I am to tell you, both Merry's & Polly's hats were created by Gylls Bears.

True Colours Thursday - BLUE & WHITE!

Being the Gentleman Bear that I am, I will only say a little on Mother's Colours post today as her story with BLUE & WHITE photographs regarding the lady who makes hand spun hair Teddy Bears should strictly have been mine to relate - after all, I am head of her Bear Hug!
But, I have a big heart and I have my own romantic tale to tell!!!

As you know, dear Merry is trying to win the heart of Master Stormy, with his dashing navy BLUE & WHITE bow...Her initial attempts re wearing seductive 'Evening in Paris' Perfume and sharing similar taste in Italian Deruta [BLUE & WHITE] pottery have failed to make an impression - he remains friendly but regretably ALOOF!
However, Mother @ that pre Christmas Teddy Bear Fair in Brighton, found a pretty BLUE hat decorated with tiny WHITE pearls for her to wear...
And when home, a BLUE & WHITE silk handkerchief of Grandmothers.
The finished look - she, Merry hates to model - I insisted...
So, encouraged, by Stormy's unexpected Christmas bouquet of Roses...And with another splash of the magic BLUE &WHITE perfume...
Merry went wooing again - she is one liberated persistant Lady Bear!
The result???
To be continued...
Unfortunately, Mother's camera has lost it's memory and my photograghs!
Hence, I leave you with this romantic 'cliff-hanger'!
Hugs,

True Colours Thursday - APRICOT!

Now, last time we had this sort of shade, Mother stole Hug member Miss Peaches Bear off me for her post - I have reclaimed her & her APRICOT flowers for today...
Friends may recall, she, Mother went to a Teddy Bear Fair whilst in Brighton on her pre Christmas visit there without me - a great regret, as I would certainly, have chosen a more suitable new bear than Othello!
But, looking through her photographs of the event, I have found this one that includes a small APRICOT youngster...Why did she not choose him, he is rather cute!

True Colours Thursday - SNOW WHITE!

Now, you may recall that in the Autumn I took Master Buttons advise and insisted grumpy Skipper, as befitting his SNOW WHITE Polar Bear heritage, hibernate for a few months in hope of improving his temperament.
With Wheelie Bailey, his best Buddys help, we managed to shove - err, Sorry - stow him away under the stairs, with the promise to wake him in time for the Holiday Festivities...Personally, I would have preferred him to sleep on and on and on
And the recent Winter weather suggests he should have!
But, a Bear's Word is his Bond, so we woke him up on Christmas Eve!

His first thought, was not 'Thank-you 'as I had bear hoped, but a very private word with Bailey...It seemed Skipper refreshed, had decided to abandon his dark, somewhat menacing 'Blues Brother' shades , however, as he is short sighted he desperately needed new glasses!
Fortunately Mother was @ hand with a few spare pairs for him to try...He finally settled on one and agreeably donned his Christmas pawty hat too...Maybe, he is a 'new' SNOW WHITE bear after all - only paw time will tell!
Hugs,

Telling Tales AND True Colours Thursday - PINE GREEN!

Apologies bears, pups and 'Aunts' for going AWL after the excitement of the Christmas Cracker Pull.
But, my Head of Hug responsibilities took precedence.
You see, Mother has had a major misadventure.
She quite literally, went missing on us on Boxing Day!!!
After she had not come home for long three nights and three even longer days, after only going to Town for I imagine more Bear Treats, I feared the worst - ABANDONMENT.
Then, this strange, swollen, black & blue bruised faced person arrived.
The Hug and I looked aghast.
The younger Hug members even hid in fright @ this strange apparition.
I, though took charge of the situation.
After bravely interrogating her, I decided it was Mother after all.
And no matter what her appearance, that we were relieved to have her back with us, even if she did smell a touch of hospital disinfectant!
Later that day someone called a Locksmith, did strange things to our front door, before presenting Mother with a bunch of shiny new brass keys.
She said we were all now safe!
Am taking her word for it.
I am also, indebted to 'Aunt' BJ, who worried, had 'Aunt' Dina call and check in on of us.
Mother is sleeping a lot, and every morning she has interesting new facial colours, personally I do not think the look will catch on.
Infact for a while, I would recommend she to wear her Blue Venetian Mask to face the outside world.
Apart from that everything is good now.

SO, onto the days business.
There was only one choice for PINE GREEN - Grizzy Bear Lee.
His 'Gotcha' place @ Three Valley Gap, BC - is surrounded by Mountain PINE's, his Canadian Sweetshirt is GREEN, and he likes to fell small GREEN PINES!
Here we are together...
The day is so dark, we had to sneak upstairs and into Mother's bed by the window where the light was better for our photo shot, only please do not tell her.
Now you may recall that Christmas bag I had for Mother?
Here's part of it's contents - a rather special Fridge Magnet...
Does he not bare a striking resemblance to some bear???
Plus his hat and scarf contains, yes, PINE GREEN!

OPPS!
Almost nearly forgot, a very HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone.
May it hold every bear thing you desire that 2009 did not.
Extra warm hugs,
xxx

True Colours Thursday - My CHRISTMAS COLOURS & GREETINGS!

Here it is late, late on Christmas Eve and I have only just managed to post!
Mother had something called a camera battery crisis!!!
I ask you?
You would think, she would know by now that flash photography eats up the power and be prepared with a reserve stock but no!
Anyway, we or rather, I am finally back on track.
It seems those smart Airedale friends of mine, Maggie & Mitch and I had the same festive colour combination thought, that is RED & GREEN!
Do you not love my Christmas Bow, and that gift bag is for Mother...
I have already hung my personally hand knitted stocking by 'Aunt' Sue up on the tree and just hope that Mrs Christmas & that Elf Bear that has taken up residence there, have Santa's ear regarding my Wish List...
Only tomorrow morning will tell!!!
In the meantime, I send all my Bear, Cat & Pup friends and human 'Aunts' Greetings for a Merry Christmas!
Seasonal Beary Love and Hugs,
x
