Rescued from the Storm!

It rained big time late, yesterday afternoon as was predicted.
The clouds darkened and the thunder 'boomed' out...
I have never seen Mother move sooooooooooooooo fast!
She was out of the front door before I could say, "the Bear!"
A little damp, she returned with him.
He was a bit subdued and needed a good toweling down...
As Buttons suggested, Mother has posted his picture in the vicinity she retrieved him from.
But, if no-one comes forward, we will of course, adopt him into the Hug!
And, to make him feel @ home, I have already christened him Stewart, as the tartan on his scarf looks rather Royal!

Now, if he stays, he will become Mothers third 'rescuee' from the WILD.
'Wheelie' pup Bailey was first - she discovered him abandoned on a street corner being tormented by youths on bikes...Mother had 'Lost' posters for him all over the neighbourhood for weeks.
Next came Skipper, found languishing in a house clearence rubbish skip...
These two, are now best buddies...
They sometimes test my patience, as not very respectful of my senior years and superior position, however am sure Stewart will know his place.

Lost or Found!

Here in the Hug, we have a serious dilemma.
On Saturday morning, Mother, walking along our home road, came across this young man, quite literally, 'hanging out' in a shrub...
We think he must have been lost by a careless child-ling!
Tutt -tutt!
Then, picked up out of harms way to await being reclaimed.
Mother, decided not to intervene there and then, as he had to be a local resident as our road is not a thoroughfare, and she felt sure his mummy would be distraught and send out a search party for him over the week-end!
However, much to our dismay, Mother has just discovered, two days & nights later he is still there looking decidedly unhappy!!!
With thunderstorms forecast for later today we are all, even more concerned for his well being - he will need an umbrella not a tartan scarf!!!
So, do we rescue him now or wait till it starts to rain???
I personally favour the former.
Will keep you posted.

Happy American Independence Day!

American 'Hug' youngster Sam was quick to remind me that today is his day, as it is the 4th of July!
Here we are together honouring the USA - sorry, I look so severe...Sam is rightly very proud of his 'Stars & Strips' hat...We both wish our trans-Atlantic friends a great Independence Day and long holiday weekend!
And, a special 'Hi!' - see I am learning North American jargon now - goes to Aunt BJ.
Sam also wants me to tell her, since she 'shipped' him over here, he has quite taken to British way of life!

True Colours Thursday - LEMON!

Due to the abnormally warm, English summer weather, and nothing to do with drinks containing Gin & Tonic and LEMON slices as cruely intermated by Miss Judy yesterday, I was a little remise reguarding preparing my post on this weeks colour!
The girls, Miss Merry, Cassandra & Polly Pola in their LEMON finest with Grandmother's Rose thoughtfully helped out...
Sorry, must go lie down again!
It is the heat you know!

Wheelie Wednesday - Judy on the 'Devil' Lemon!

"Hi, it's me Judy!
Schhh!
I'm having to whisper here, as Sir Woodstock's a little in disposed!
Well, a lot really!!!
He was helping Mummy with her True Colours Thursday post for LEMON, earlier today.
The 'please pass the Gin & Tonic'prompt, intrigued him!
So, he decided to sample the goods...
He did say, it smelt sort of scented - girly!
But, being a gentleman, he could not let Mummy drink alone.
However, after several glasses, he'd aquired the taste.
The end result was this...
He keeps muttering about being abnormally depressed too!
All I can say, is LEMON's must be very, very lethal!
Now, have to go, as must find Merry, so she can rally the 'Hug' girls as Woodstock has no TCT post prepared yet.
Foxy love & wheelie wishes,

xxx"

True Colours Thursday - MAROON!

I was pondering this colour, only thinking of my collar being MAROON... When, ever helpful Miss Merry, sporting for the occasion her MAROON spotted neck-chief...Pointed out, I should introduce Chester, in his MAROON snow flaked Winter's scarf, especially as she suspects, we may be distantly related, as we do share a certain facial characteristic...
Excuse me!
What do you think???
Is she right???
Do we share a heritage???
Could Chester be a cousin of sorts???
He is certainly a cosy cuddlesome Gent, if, Acrylic furred!
Grandmother procured him for Mother, Christmas...
He was her last personally selected gift to her.
And, he did hail from an establishment called 'Past Times'.
So, I will respect his pedigree - it maybe, remotely similar to mine!

True Colours Thursday - BLACK & TAN!

I have no resident Hug member for this colour combination, unless you count a Grizzly Bear's paw...It belongs to Canadian bear, Lee.
Yes, that is what Mother eventually called him after much debate and some brilliant suggestions from friends that included Jasper, my personal favourite.
But, Mother being Mother, went her own sweet way, settling on Lee because she discovered him @ Three Valley Gap!

A brief visitor here though, was The Graduate.
He was certainly TAN & dressed in BLACK 'subfusc' attire as required to sit his finals @ University......
However, once 'graduated', he moved pronto to Edward's hug!
I have no idea why!

Monochrome Monday - The Door-Stop!

Now, I know some Bloggers disregard Teddy Bear blogs!
And, a few, even go as far, as to wonder about poor Mothers mental health re helping me post!!!
But, there is one gentleman, who graciously indulges us both, even allowing me to particpate in his weekly Monochrome Maniac's meme.
Thank-you Aileni!
I do enjoy twicking images to B&W!
This is my latest Bear related effort...
Mother photographed this fine fellow of a door-stop last Autumn, whilst holidaying in Barmouth, a Welsh town, that I know is close to Aileni's heart.
He, the bear, not Aileni - LOL - graced the entrance of the Ty'r Graig Castle Hotel, where she stayed.
I believe she is heading back to there again this September.
Something to do with WELTAF and those feisty Welsh Terriers she's so darn fond of!

True Colours Thursday - IVORY!

Well, it is another week and more bearlings have moved in!
As Wheelie Bailey reported yesterday, the household hug continues to grow @ an alarming rate.
The youngest newcomber being Miss Anna.
She was very camera shy to start with...
But, after much coxing she finally agreed to say "Hallo"...
Her very soft fur is a a perfect shade of IVORY, do you not think?
Anna has an interesting pedigree.
She was hand-made in The Netherlands especially for Gamleys.
Mother remembers the name well, having visited some years ago, the companies original store in Hove, just down the road from Brighton.
Founded in 1919, Gamleys were one of the oldest toy-sellers in the country, but sadly they disappeared last September when the final shop was closed - tutt, tutt!
Anyway, here is Anna & I, in full view together...
Now, her pearls are a mystery, as she did not arrive with them!
I caught her emerging from Grandmothers old bedroom so decked.
But, being a gentleman, I did not like to say anything!!!
I just hope,
Edward has not sent me a kleptomaniac!
Hugs,
