True Colours Thursday - RAINBOW!

We bears do miss Mother, when she is away!
Will be glad to have her home from her latest adventure, later today .

Past experience tells me she will be both jet-lagged and SAD, upon her return, so I am all ready to do Cuddle Duty.
And, I made this colourful RAINBOW image of me, with the help of PhotoFunia to make her smile...
Then, religious young John 2 pointed out that we also had a picture in the Bear Photographic Archives of Joseph in his Coat of Many Colours...He is a limited edition Stieff Bear and far above Mothers means!

True Colours Thursday - RUST!

Thankfully Mother, before she went away on holiday, helped me with this weeks colour - it was suggested by Aunt BJ, so had to play!
Now, I have several RUSTY bears in the Hug.
But, am choosing to introduce the original member - Toby...
He, of course, was not Mothers first Teddy Bear.
They are sadly, long LOST!
When Grandmother moved, to live with her in Dreamingspires, much to their great joint dismay, the removal company misplaced two packing cases whilst holding them in storage for a few days - one contained much loved & worn, childhood friends Big Ted, Little Ted & Fluffy.
There was tears @ bedtime, as a house without bears is not a home!
Toby arrived shortly afterwards, a gift from Grandmother.
And, was so named, because his birth label said 'Toyland - Made in Israel'.
This is because, @ the time, the only Jewish person that Mother had knowingly encountered, was the fictional character Toby in Lynne Reid Banks 1960's novel "The L-Shaped Room", which she had recently read.
We still have the well thumbed paperback in our Library...

Canadian Male!

I have sneaked a few special stamps into Mothers travel wallet...
Hopefully, they will remind her to send postcards home!

True Colours Thursday - LIME!

Mother's choice of colour this week had me dress up...I, personally, think my LIME Charity shop T-shirt says it all!
"Hug-ga-ble:
[huhg-ub-buhbel] adj.
fluffy, soft, cuddly.
A huggable little teddy bear."

Wheelie Wednesday - Bailey Graduates!

"Hallo Everyone, Bailey here!
Yes, I've finally, got to get a look in!!!
That Woodstock, does love to hog the blog limelight.
And, my so called Sis, Miss Foxy Judy is no support.
She likes & pampers to him.
What has happened to Wheelie solidarity, I ask???
My only comfort, is she isn't getting to go, on the Fox Terrier Rescue Walk this coming Sunday, as Mistress is leaving us again for her man friend!
I can't say anymore on that subject, as for the mo it's hush-hush.

Anyway, I've been studying hard recently...
If, you can't beat them, better to join the elite
Even watched Open University's educational programmes on TV.
Though, did get side tracked by the Sport, as do like girls, in swimming costumes...
Still, my exceptional academic efforts have been recognised.
See I made front page news when I graduated...
Till next time, keep paw happy!
Bye-de-Bye,
x"

M is for!

Regretably I, have missed a few ABC letters recently.
But, this weeks, must stand for Marmalade or marvelously manufactured Marmite.
Now, I like Mother, much prefer savoury Marmite.
Hot toasted buttered Crumpets spread with said Marmite & served with cool crisp Cucumber slices - yummy, yummy!
Yet, hug member Paddington is now torn between the two.
His original love was Marmalade.
But, a recent advertising campaign has seen him favour Marmite...

Last July, he, Paddington celebrated his 50th Bearday!
It seems hard to believe that it is that long since, author
Michael Bond, first wrote about the arrival of a small, blue duffle coated, bear from deepest, darkest Peru, @ Paddington Station, baring that most famous label "Please look after this Bear. Thank you."
Mother, finally acquired her very own cuddlesome Paddington, anniversary edition no less then.
He arrived home in her wicker basket...
Well, she was not going to make him travel in a plastic bag @ his mature age.
Hugs,

PS...
Am posting a day early, as a certain disgruntled Wheelie boy, insists on having a say tomorrow!

Monochrome Monday - Poor Bunny!

I cannot, express my dismay, shock, horror, at what some individuals will do when the Easter Bunny does not bring the eggs they wanted...It was just too painful to show in colour!

He has Been!

Yes, the Easter Bunny delivered big time!
Look @ Merry & I's laden basket of eggs to share around the Hug...And, so Mother was not left out, I personally procurred especially for her, a Lindt Golden Bunny & a card signed by all us bears .
A good job too, as it was the only chocolate she recieved - see how sad I look for her, when we have so many eggs - maybe we will share...
Hugs & Easter Greetings to everyone.
Hope your Bunny delivered as well as ours did!

The Easter Bunny!

Mother posted this photo taken last Spring on her old blog...
At the time she thought him, a doggy and quoted this...
"Imagination is more important than knowledge"
Albert Einstein
[1879 - 1955]

But most, like me, thought her wrong!
We, recognised him instantly as a Bunny leaping across the sky.
I hope he's out there right now, gathering up all our Easter eggs for Sunday!
I am eagerly waiting...

True Colours Thursday - BLACK & WHITE!

I understand, it has been muttered, that this weeks colour, is not a True Colour.
Oh dear!
Mother, being a good old stick, has not let on, it is I who is responsible.
You see, how else was I going to introduce a unique member of my Hug???
Here's a clue...
Yes, Princess Chi Chi, is a Panda Bear.
She is a little bit special.
Well, for for one thing she's a Boyd's Bear.
Secondly, she a tomboy, will insist in sliding down the stair balustrades...
And thirdly, she has adopted her own pet...

I do like Aristocracy & fully support Royalty.
But, she is snooty though - looks away all the time... Hugs,

The Truth!

Did, I not tell you, I was the 'Apple of my Mother's Eye'???
Well, here is the proof...It is just unfortunate that the cool site PhotaFunia made her eyes, look green rather than their dark Blue!

True Colours Thursday - SCARLET!

Not a very impressive contribution on my part this week.
Had no opportunity to introduce a Hug member, as had to help Mother out with her SCARLET post.

Just look @ me...I felt I was suffering from jet-lag, just wearing the attire!

New Bear Discovered!

Reading the morning newspapers, as I seriously do, came across this fascinating story and simply had to share it:-

"POLAR WORRY!
Scientists & Wildlife Experts scratch their heads after recent bear capture...
This purple "ursus maritimus" baffles all."

I was concerned!
Could it be another worrying side effect of Global Warming?
But, after much thought...

HAPPY APRILS FOOLS DAY!
Did I get you all, with this story???
It is sort of true.
In July 2003, a zoo in Mendoza, Argentina, treated its 23-year-old Polar bear, Pelusa suffering from Dermatitis, with an antiseptic spray.
The alarming side effect was, it turned her fur purple, making her a world wide bear-celebrity, much loved by children.
